What is your inspiration for your scrapbooking?
My family, friends, and knowing that I'm creating something
for future generations to enjoy and learn from. Also, I know that if something
should ever happen to me, I will have left my children and family a piece
of me.
What do you scrap the most?
My son Memphis and my daughter Charlie.
Why did you start scrapbooking?
My husband and I moved to Tulsa, OK with our new born son back in 2001.
Six months after we moved to Tulsa, I got a part time job working for
Camp fire kids as a group leader. That's where I met Laura. Laura and
I were both group leaders and quickly became good friends. While at one
of our meetings, Laura asked me if I scrapbooked? I said yes and got excited
about showing her my wedding scrapbook. She came over later and looked
at my wedding album and was very nice....however, when I said I scrapbooked,
what I meant was: yes, I use paint pens, obnoxiously loud and busy papers,
and lots of cheesy stickers. So...when I finally got to see her scrapbooks,
I was embarrassed because they were nothing like mine. She had created
these beautiful and interesting pages using all sorts of embellishments
and techniques that I didn't even know existed. Then she took me to my
first scrapbook store! I had no idea that scrapbook stores existed and
as soon as I walked in I knew I had found my new hobby. I have always
loved art and creating things, and I especially love organizing things.
Since then I have been addicted and consider it to be my obsession!
What are your favorite tools, supplies, etc..
Tools -- sandpaper, ruler,
digital Camera, computer, and my beloved photo printer.
Supplies -- patterned
paper, black & white textured cardstock, rub ons, and ink!
Best organization tip?
I categorize my papers by manufacturers and I keep
them in legal size file folders in a crate. I love this because it's basically
like vertical paper storage and to me makes it easier to view and find
whatever papers I need at the moment. I also organize my scraps the same
way for easy access!
Your scrapbooking Style?
Artistic, resourceful, and productive are the best words
I can use to describe my scrapping style. I'm always ready to try new
things, but I also like spending time fine tuning techniques that I already
like to use. Good photography is extremely important to me, and I strive
to improve my own every chance I get. My layouts and other scrapbooking
projects are usually easy to recreate, and I love sharing new and old
techniques that have worked well for me. I let my pictures, the story
behind the layout, or simply my mood, determine whether I create a simple
graphic design, a collage, or a clean and classic look.

them that they can create art from their memories too, even if they are
new to the exciting world of scrapbooking.
