What is your inspiration for your scrapbooking?

Making my family smile and telling their story!

What do you scrap the most?

I mostly scrap family portrait, event, and travel photos. Documenting my family's life and preserving photos of our loved ones is really important to me, but I am totally guilty of really just wanting to show off a great photo sometimes too.

Why did you start scrapbooking?

I wanted to make a gift album for my mom. I loved every minute of the process -- from gathering the supplies and photos, assembling and journaling, to my mom's love of the album. It's a creative exercise, meaningful hobby, and a great way to tell others how much you care.

What are your favorite tools, supplies, etc..

Tools -- My husband - just kidding! Well, not really. He takes awesome photos and I love scrapbooking them. Next to Bob, I can't scrap without my computer (Paint Shop Pro and Printmaster) for photo editing and journaling, and simple cutting tools (x-acto knife, scissors, and paper trimmer).

Supplies -- Patterned paper - I love color and pattern! It comes in so many different styles!
Flowers - The girly girl in me. If there's a way to get a flower on a page, you'll find at least one on there.
Brads - Great adhesive and embellishment!

Best organization tip?

Regular old office binders and 8.5" x 11" page protectors really help me out. I store most of stickers, rub-ons, and clear stamps in them. I learned from my mom to do the same for my children's school documents, layouts, and photos. They save space and make me look well-organized.

Your scrapbooking Style?

Eclectic. It's a big, beautiful, diverse world out there, and I hope my layouts reflect what we've seen, where we've been, and how grateful I am for the blessings we've been given.

Published work:

Not much! I personally found scrapbooking with a publishing call in mind was just too stressful for me, and I was neglecting the photos that were really important to me. I am thankful for those courageous artists who submit for publishing though - I'll never forget what it felt to open up my first Creating Keepsakes, Memory Makers, and Somerset Studio magazines and discover how much fun scrapbooking could be.
