Melanie Stout

"I was introduced to scrapbooking thru Creative Memories about 10 years ago. After that initial introduction, i took matters into my own hands, and quickly became what you call a scrap addict... several years and several scrapbook albums later, i still consider myself addicted to scrapbooking!"

" I was the previous owner of a LSS and truly enjoyed that experience, meeting new friends and developing my true scrapbooking style, altho it was short lived (18 months), i learned a lot about the industry. These days you will find me at home with my wonderful husband Tom, and raising 3 beautiful children, Chelsea (10), Lucas (5) and Mia (3) all of which are very tolerant of my constant need to take photos! When i am not chasing around the kids i am usually in my scrapbook nook trying to create the latest addition to my many ongoing albums.... "

What is your inspiration for your scrapbooking?

I find inspiration in everyday life.. colors, signage, but by far, my kids are the biggest source. I also enjoy finding inspiration in magazines and idea books.

What do you scrap the most?

Without a doubt, my kids and family.. but also scrap girlfriends a lot too...

Why did you start scrapbooking?

At the time i started, i was very alone, in a city where i knew no one, and had just one child at home, it was something that i found to be relaxing and theraputic, and it just went on from there.

What are your favorite tools, supplies, etc..

Tools --My favorite tool has to be my cutterpede, i would be so lost with out it!

Supplies --hmmm i love ribbon, and paint, and ummm paper.

Best organization tip?

Everything must have a place, and clean up after each layout, leave your work space neat after each session and you will come back not frustrated by the mess, but inspired by a clean slate...

Your scrapbooking Style?

Oh this is hard, i go between two extremes... very shabby chic, with lots of inking, sanding, paint, embellishments and such, and then very clean and simple with just paper and photos.. it depends on my mood, on my photos. most of the time i don't have a plan, i just sit down and start playing with my supplies, and then i see what happens.

Published work?

I have one page that will be in a new Cantana Publication this summer, and that is all, but i am planning on becoming a household name one day... haha

Personal Scrapbooking Goals?

I would love to "place" in one of the BIG NAME contests, i would like to be published more, i would like to learn how to take FANTASIC photos every time i pick up my camera....
