Wendy Price

Wendy Price's style is very linear, but not simple. She loves to distress and sew on her pages, as well as try out and teach new techniques! Wendy tends to scrap one page LO's with two-three pictures, and is also into rubber stamping in making cards and paperbag books! "I'm 33 years old and live in Haddon Twp, NJ. My husband, Larry and I have two very active boys, Willem (21 months) and Zak (almost 6). I am a technique junkie. I love to try anything and everything new."

What is your inspiration for your scrapbooking?

I find inspiration all around. It is hard to sit and watch TV and not see inspiration in the commercial colors or sort through the mail and not find inspiration in catalogs.

What do you scrap the most?

I scrap "emotion" pages the most. Most times my layouts are based around a favorite photo and the layout and journaling comes from that. Most of my layouts are about my boys.

Why did you start scrapbooking?

I started scrapping back in 2003 when I was pregnant with my youngest son. I have always loved papercrafting and was already into rubber stamping, so scrapbooking came as a natural progression. My goal was to create his baby book. Three years later I still have not finished his baby book, but I am now hopelessly obssessed with scrapbooking.

What are your favorite tools, supplies, etc..

The one tool that I use every single time I sit down and scrap would have to be an exacto knife and a metal edge ruler. But there are other things that I must have...intense kiwi Prism cardstock, an ample supply of colorful pattern paper, a few fun stamps, and plenty of embroidery floss.

Best organization tip?

Keep it clean as you go. I am a total neat freak when it comes to my scraproom, perhaps because it is a tiny space. I will clean and tidy my workspace as I scrap. The more disorganized my desk becomes the more unproductive I become. When I'm finished with my project I make sure everything is put away. When I moved my scraproom recently it was important to me in the design that I had storage and containers for everything. Everything had to be hidden away, but easily accessed. I didn't want to have to open doors and containers to get to supplies.

Your scrapbooking Style?

Good question. I'm not really sure any more. I started out as a techniques driven scrapper. I loved to try new techniques and would plan pages around them. In the last year my style has become more streamlined and simple. My love for photography has grown and more of my layouts are becoming based around a favorite photo rather than a technique.

Published work?

PaperKuts Oh boy/Pure Girl Idea book, The Rubber Stamper Magazine, Creative Memories Community Magazine.

Personal Scrapbooking Goals?

Well of course I would love to have more work published, but I'm working on that. I would love to take my photography to the next level. And I would love to settle into a style of scrapbooking that feels comfortable. I feel like I am finally finding a style now that works for me.
